The Lawn Ranger of Stuarts Draft is David Garrison, a local resident.

In my youth, I spent time working in a greenhouse, which covered an acre, raising mums and carnations. After high school, I worked at Virginia Metalcrafters, where I met Austin Kennel, President of the Rhododendron Society. Under his mentorship for 15 years, I learned plant care, and treatment of problems such as, environmental, insects, and diseases. We attended several flower show competitions.

In 1987 through 1993 I worked for a national lawn, tree and shrub service. In those 6 years I acquired my Commercial Pesticide Applicators License, Master Gardner’s certificate, and numerous certificates in lawn, tree and shrub care. In 1994 I started my own lawn, tree and shrub business. In order to keep up with new laws and regulations, and new safer products for the environment, I attend recertification classes each year.
