Dear Friend,
When most people think of "lawn care" they think of weed control and fertilization. These treatments I apply in the Spring and the Fall. There is a Summer treatment I can apply if you so desire. It is designed to protect you, your pet and the lawn from lime disease carrying ticks, fleas, chiggers and sod webworms. The summer weeds are starting to emerge as well. But don't worry; the fourth treatment will take care of them. If you wish to receive the Summer treatment, I will start spraying soon. The fourth treatment will start in September.

Have you seen any Japanese beetles or June bugs flying around your neighborhood? If so, they are probably laying eggs in your lawn. The eggs become grubs and will start hatching soon. You will not see the damage until September. The best time to prevent and kill grubs is now. If you feel you might have a grub problem please call me. We can discuss a simple one time treatment for your lawn. Remember, you won't see the damage until September but you will see the beetles now. I send out this cautionary letter on grub control every year. It is less expensive to treat the lawn than to repair it after the damage is done.

This Spring had low temperatures and adequate rainfall and the lawns looked great. In the past few weeks the days have been hot and humid and have caused considerable stress to the lawns as well as disease. Treatment for disease is costly since it is not a one-time treatment. Applications must be applied periodically throughout the remainder of the year. If you wish to discuss this, please call me so we can best determine your needs.

Trees and Shrubs

Don't forget that I spray trees and shrubs for insects such as lace bugs on azaleas, leaf miners on boxwoods, and Japanese beetles. If you would like this service please contact me.

You are a valuable customer to The Lawn Ranger, and as always, I try to keep you informed on the possible problems and treatments for your lawn to keep it as healthy as it can be.

Thanks goes out to all the customers that have provided referrals. Word of mouth is the best form of advertising.
